Small Business Payroll Services

To small business owners, payroll services can be an important service to their business. Soon after getting a small business startup loan you will soon realize that its important to oursource as many things as possible so you can focus on money making activities that will help grow your business.  To many small business owners, doing a task like payroll seems something that should be definitely kept inhouse.  After all, there is a limited budget and you need to prioritize where you spend your limited resources.  For most small business owners, its important that they 'bootstrap' it in order to keep outgoing cash to a minimum.

After your business starts to pick up speed, you will get to the point where you can (and should) consider outsourcing tasks such as payroll.  Even if it takes you 30 minutes a week to do, you have to ask yourself "Is this worth my time?".  I know, I know, its not that difficult to do and you figure that by keeping payroll inhouse as opposed to going through a payroll service is being smart with your money.  The fact is that as soon as you have the ability, you should be outsourcing EVERYTHING possibly that is not revenue producing.  Its the equivalent of you filing away paperwork instead of spending time getting new accounts.

So, in my mind, there are a few ways to go.  I personally love the webbased solution of Surepayroll.  It's easy to use, you can access from anywhere, and they take care of your taxes.  Its a win/win for everyone.  Even if it only saves you about 30 minutes a week, its still good for any business in the long run.  As your business progresses, you can consider going to a higher end service like ADP but anything early on that gets the function out of your hands is a good thing.
